Commercial Glass

Glass Railings
& Balustrades

Frameless and framed glass railing systems that open up your space visually while meeting every structural and code requirement.

Safety Without
Sacrificing Views

Glass railings have become the design choice for architects and interior designers who want to preserve sightlines and maximize the feeling of openness on commercial stairs, mezzanines, elevated walkways, and balconies. Houston Premium Glass installs frameless and framed glass balustrade systems that meet IBC structural requirements and deliver exceptional visual results.

We work from architectural drawings or provide design-build services for your railing scope. Our team handles tempered and laminated glass panel sizing, standoff hardware, top cap and handrail selection, base shoe or fascia mount detailing, and code-compliant installation throughout Greater Houston.

All railing installations are engineered for IBC 200 lb. point load and 50 lb./ft. distributed load requirements. We are fully insured and supply COI documentation for your project files.

Railing System
Options

We offer the full range of glass railing configurations — from minimal standoff systems to framed commercial balustrades.

Standoff / Point-Fixed

Glass panels secured by individual stainless steel standoff fittings to a structural substrate — creates a floating glass plane effect with minimal visible hardware. The most architectural frameless option.

Base Shoe Channel

Glass panels seated in a continuous floor-mounted aluminum channel (U-channel) — the most common frameless commercial railing system. Clean, strong, and adaptable to any floor condition.

Fascia-Mounted

Railing system attached to the side face of a floor slab or deck rather than the top surface — ideal for balconies and elevated terraces where top-of-slab attachment is not possible.

Framed Glass Balustrade

Aluminum post and rail system with glass infill panels — more economical than frameless, with equivalent structural performance. Available in all standard post spacings and handrail profiles.

Tempered vs. Laminated

We recommend laminated glass for overhead and elevated applications where panel integrity after breakage is critical. Tempered glass is standard for ground-level and interior stairs where IBC permits.

Top Cap & Handrail Options

Continuous wood, stainless, or aluminum top cap or handrail profiles to complete your railing system — round, rectangular, and custom profiles available in matching or contrasting finishes.
