A glass canopy does what no traditional metal or fabric awning can — it shelters visitors from rain while preserving light, openness, and the visual continuity of your building's glass facade. Houston Premium Glass engineers and installs architectural glass canopy systems for commercial entrances, walkways, drive-through canopies, and porte-cochères across Greater Houston.

We work with structural engineers to design canopy systems using laminated safety glass panels supported by structural steel fins, stainless steel rods and cables, or wall-mounted steel brackets. Every system is engineered for Texas wind loads and Houston's high-humidity climate.

All canopy installations are permitted and inspected per City of Houston and applicable jurisdiction codes. We are fully insured and provide COI documentation for property owners and general contractors.

Canopy System
Types

We design and install glass canopy systems tailored to your building's structural conditions, aesthetic vision, and budget.

Wall-Mounted Cantilevered

The most common commercial glass canopy — steel bracket arms bolted to the building facade support laminated glass panels overhead. Clean, modern, and cost-effective for entrances up to 12 feet deep.

Cable-Supported

Stainless steel tension rods or cables suspend glass panels from above, creating a minimal-hardware, floating glass effect. Dramatic and architectural — ideal for flagship building entries.

Steel Fin / Structural Frame

Exposed structural steel fins or post frames support glass panels independently of the building structure — suitable for larger canopies and porte-cochères requiring wider spans.

Glass Walkway Covers

Connected glass canopy systems covering pedestrian walkways between buildings, parking structures, and retail entries. Provides continuous weather protection while maintaining an open, light-filled corridor.

Laminated Safety Glass

All canopy glass is laminated — two or more glass plies bonded with an interlayer — so that in the event of breakage, fragments remain held in place rather than falling on pedestrians below.

Fritted & Tinted Options

Ceramic-fritted patterns reduce solar glare and heat buildup under the canopy while adding a decorative element. Tinted glass options available for consistent aesthetic matching your storefront.
